As a very frequent traveller, pre Covid, I travelled internationally extensively for work & holidays. I never really gave much thought to any pre travel planning, except packing and itinerary planning for a different country! After 2.5 years of no international travel

and our increased awareness of Covid – everything has changed. Having not travelled overseas in 3 years due to the COVID19 pandemic and having not travelled to South America before I was nervous and unsure about what I should be packing in my medical kit and what things I could do to best keep myself well so

I could enjoy my trip to the fullest. Travel Healthy took the time to go over my medical history and vaccinations that I have had and suggested the ones that I should have done before my trip. They provided information about different medicines I could take to help avoid food poisoning and how best to manage any pre-existing medical conditions that I had while I was over there. Hi! We’re Yvonne and Susan,

We are accredited pharmacists and best friends based in Australia. Our Travel Healthy journey grew from our mutual love of travel and our desire to help people to have amazing trips, unaffected by health-related issues.

After opening our pharmacy we discovered that our
customers and patients have the same desire for their travels. So we decided to focus on specialising in our premiere travel health service.

Now we help happy travellers, just like you, journey around the world and Travel Healthy.

2000- 2004

The Adventure Begins

We met at the University of Sydney whilst studying pharmacy. We instantly bonded talking about our dreams, plans, and everything in between. After graduating with our Bachelor of Pharmacy, we went to work at community pharmacies where we found our passion to help people be holistically healthy.

2006

Our Love for Travel

Two best friends set out to travel the UK and Europe, visiting 24 countries and sparking their love for travel. While on tour, we became the go-to health advisers to help our fellow travellers combat common travel ailments and travel medicines.

2008 -2012

Brides & Bridesmaids

Our lives as pharmacists continued and our new lives as wives and mothers began. Of course, it was only fitting that we were bridesmaids at each other’s weddings. Since becoming mums, we’ve learned how much more prepared and organised you need to be when travelling with kids.

2013- 2017

The Grand Opening

We decided to team up and bought our own pharmacy in Carlingford. Our shared vision to provide patient-centred care, personalised health services, and working with local groups and businesses to build a healthier community was well received. We were nominated for two local business awards and won the West Pennant Hills Rotary Club-Pride of Workmanship Award.

2017

The Travel Healthy Spark

After 4 years of providing travel health advice for patients picking up their prescription medications for travel (and receiving endless postcards), we officially launched our travel health kiosk within our pharmacy! The kiosk enabled us to provide interactive travel information such as vaccinations and recommended travel supplies.

2017- 2019

Long Way

Yvonne was interviewed for an article titled ‘Travel Health in Pharmacy about Common Concerns and Recommended Items’ that was published in the Australian Journal of Pharmacy. In 2017 we were the finalists in The Hills Local Business Awards.

2019-2021

Awards

We were thrilled when our Carmen Drive Community Pharmacy won the Parramatta Local Business Awards for our outstanding healthcare services and solutions, including our travel health service! Then in 2021, we were finalists in both the Western Sydney Business Awards for Excellence and the Parramatta Local Business Awards.

Today

After years of providing travel health information as an addition to our pharmacy, we’re happy to announce that Travel Healthy is officially born! We’ve made the move to provide a complete travel health service, including certain vaccinations.
